This disclaimer explains important information about Manus AI integration within Deal Manager AI. Please read this carefully before using Manus AI features.
About Manus AI
Manus AI was originally developed by a Chinese-backed company with headquarters in Singapore. In December 2025, Manus was acquired by Meta Platforms, Inc. for approximately $2 billion. Manus now operates under Meta ownership with servers hosted in the United States and subject to U.S. regulatory standards. Meta has committed to unwinding all prior Chinese ownership ties.
Manus AI excels at autonomous task execution, including research, analysis, document creation, and multi-step workflows that would typically require significant manual effort.
Under Meta's API terms, Manus does not use private user data or task outputs to train its base models. Manus may use de-identified metadata to improve agent performance. For current policies, see Manus Privacy Policy.
Important Privacy Notice
We recommend you do not share sensitive information such as social security numbers, birthdates, or other personally identifiable information (PII) when using Manus AI.
Data Protection Measures
Deal Manager AI takes the following precautions to protect your data when using Manus AI:
Document Protection
Files you upload to Deal Manager AI are stored on our servers. When you use the Excel Add-in or web chat with Claude, your documents are processed by Claude and are not sent to Manus. When Manus is used for deal analysis or document generation, only the deal context relevant to your request (property details, financial metrics, workbook data) is transmitted to Manus—raw uploaded files are not sent unless you explicitly attach them in a Manus chat session.
Limited Context
Manus does not have access to your full chat history across other AI providers. Within a Manus session, it receives your current message and recent conversation context from that session only.
When Manus Is Used
Manus is used in two scenarios: (1) when you explicitly select it from the model dropdown in the Excel Add-in or web chat, and (2) during new deal analysis in Financial Analysis, where Manus powers the initial deal processing workflow. In both cases, only deal-related data (property details, financial metrics) is transmitted—never your account credentials, personal information, or data from other deals.
Alternative Models Available
For sensitive work, we recommend using Claude, GPT, or Gemini which operate under US/EU commercial API agreements.
Credit Usage
Manus AI uses a variable credit system based on actual task complexity and processing time:
- Minimum: 0.25 Deal Manager credits (for simple tasks)
- Typical: 0.5 - 2 credits (for standard research and analysis)
- Complex: 2+ credits (for extensive multi-step workflows)
Credits are calculated based on Manus usage: 200 Manus credits = 1.25 Deal Manager credits. Credits are deducted when your task completes, not when you start it.
When to Use Manus AI
Recommended use cases:
- Complex research and analysis tasks
- Multi-step workflows and automation
- Creating investment memos, reports, and presentations
- Market research and competitive analysis
- Financial modeling and due diligence tasks
Not recommended for:
- Processing documents containing PII (social security numbers, birthdates, etc.)
- Sharing sensitive personal or financial information in chat messages
- Tasks involving confidential data that requires strict jurisdictional control
